Goal Sport Technology Deploys FVS with the Malta Football Association

Goal Sport Technology is proud to announce the deployment of its Football Video Support (FVS) system in collaboration with the Malta Football Association. This milestone marks the first rollout of FVS technology by a national football association.

Beginning with the 2025–26 season, the FVS system will be implemented across Malta’s domestic football and futsal competitions, supporting match officials with enhanced video review capabilities.

Developed under FIFA’s Innovation Programme, Football Video Support provides an accessible and cost-effective alternative to traditional VAR systems. The technology enables video review for key match incidents and offers an easy-to-use, practical solution that helps referees make informed decisions.

The Goal Sport FVS technology is the result of years of experience in in-stadium systems, leading to the creation of a portable, lightweight, and powerful pitch-side solution. GS FVS is a flexible technology, it is already available on the market and tested for use across a wide range of challenging scenarios.
